Leasing & Hire Purchase

We offer the financing options leasing and hire purchase exclusively to businesses, commercial operators and self-employed persons for selected products with a net order value of €1,000 or more. Below you will find the key differences between the two forms of financing.

Leasing

With leasing, the product is made available to the lessee for use in return for regular lease payments. The asset is recognized on the lessor’s balance sheet. Lease payments can generally be claimed as operating expenses for tax purposes. These are gross payments, and VAT is charged throughout the entire term. Once the agreed minimum lease term has expired, purchasing the product is generally possible.

Hire purchase

In economic terms, hire purchase is equivalent to an installment purchase. The product is capitalized on the hire purchaser’s balance sheet and depreciated in accordance with the official depreciation tables. Ownership of the asset transfers to the hire purchaser upon payment of the final hire-purchase installment. VAT must be paid in full with the first hire-purchase installment (a pass-through item).

Comprag DV15 – variable-speed screw compressor with 15 kW, 1:1 direct drive and demand-based compressed air generation

The Comprag DV15 is designed for businesses where compressed air demand is not constant – and that is precisely where the DV series demonstrates its greatest strength. The integrated frequency inverter continuously adjusts the compressor speed to the actual consumption. This means the compressor delivers only the amount of air currently required, maintains stable line pressure and reduces unnecessary idling and switching losses.

The generously sized screw air end is directly connected to the electric motor via a flexible coupling. The 1:1 direct drive requires neither belts nor transmission stages, reduces the number of moving wear parts and transfers the motor power directly to the compressor. The result is a powerful, easy-to-maintain and economical compressed air supply for demanding continuous operation.

Your benefits at a glance

✅ Variable speed control via frequency inverter – output follows the actual compressed air demand

✅ 1:1 direct drive without belt losses or regular retensioning

✅ Delivery volume of up to 2.3 m³/min – depending on the selected pressure variant

✅ Constant operating pressure with reduced load/unload cycling

✅ v-Log microprocessor control with operating data, group control and MODBUS connectivity

Variable speed control – compressed air according to actual demand

A pressure sensor monitors the current system pressure. If consumption changes, the control system automatically adjusts the motor speed via the frequency inverter. Instead of constantly switching between full load and idle, the DV15 operates according to demand within its control range. The frequency inverter also reduces starting currents and relieves the motor and electrical components.

Key benefits of variable-frequency control:

✔ The motor speed and delivery rate follow the actual compressed-air demand.

✔ Idle times and frequent load changes are reduced.

✔ The operating pressure remains more stable even when demand fluctuates.

✔ Soft starting reduces peak electrical currents and protects the components.

✔ This saves energy, particularly with changing load profiles.

1:1 Direct Drive – Efficient, Robust, and Low-Maintenance

The motor and screw block are directly connected via a flexible coupling. This eliminates belt slip, belt replacement, and losses caused by transmission stages. Fewer moving parts mean less wear, direct power transmission, and high operational reliability.

Key benefits of the 1:1 direct drive:

✔ Direct power transmission from the motor to the screw block via a flexible coupling.

✔ No belts, belt tensioning, or belt wear.

✔ Lower transmission losses and therefore high efficiency.

✔ Less maintenance and lower ongoing service costs.

✔ Robust, smooth-running continuous operation with a high level of operational reliability.

Design and High-Quality Components

Inside, an energy-efficient screw block, a reliable electric motor with thermal motor protection, an effective oil separation system, and the professional v-Log controller work together. Internal pressure losses are kept low by design, while the air-oil separation limits residual oil content at the outlet to a maximum of 3 mg/m³ according to the manufacturer.

Key assemblies at a glance:

Screw block: efficiently and continuously compresses the intake air.

Electric motor: directly drives the compressor via the flexible coupling.

Intake filter: protects the compressor from dust and particles in the ambient air.

Air-oil receiver and separation system: separate the oil-air mixture and reduce residual oil content.

Oil filter and thermostatic valve: ensure lubrication and stable operating temperatures.

Cooler and fan: reliably dissipate heat from the oil and compressed-air circuits.

v-Log controller: monitors operating conditions, messages, and service intervals.

v-Log Control and Networking

The v-Log controller monitors automatic operation and provides the operator with key process values such as operating pressure, the temperature of the air-oil mixture, and operating times. Multiple compatible compressors can be coordinated via the group control. For integration into a higher-level control system or control room, the controller supports MODBUS RTU.

Compressed Air Quality and Treatment

The compressor generates oil-lubricated compressed air. According to the Comprag catalog, compressed air up to Class 4:4:4 under ISO 8573-1:2010 is possible in a suitably designed system. The quality class actually achieved depends on the downstream treatment. For dry, application-appropriate filtered compressed air, an air receiver, refrigerated dryer or adsorption dryer, as well as suitable prefilters, fine filters and activated carbon filters, should be provided depending on the application.

Installation, operation and maintenance

The compressor requires a level surface suitable for its total weight, as well as adequate ventilation and air discharge. According to the operating manual, at least 1.5 m of clearance from walls and neighboring compressors must be provided around the system. The hot cooling air must be discharged without obstruction; electrical installation, protection and commissioning must be carried out by qualified specialists.

The maintenance schedule includes daily checks as well as scheduled maintenance at 500, 2,000, 4,000 and 6,000 operating hours. The operating manual, actual operating conditions and the controller's maintenance indicator are always decisive. Original filters, separators, oil and maintenance kits preserve operational safety and performance.

📌 Important: The compressor is supplied without an air receiver, dryer or external compressed air filters. The complete compressed air station must be designed to suit consumption, the desired air quality and the operating conditions.

Typical applications

The Comprag DV15 is particularly suitable for industrial and craft compressed air networks with fluctuating consumption—for example in production, metalworking, CNC manufacturing, assembly, painting, blasting technology, packaging, workshops and automated systems. With a constant base-load requirement, it can also be combined with additional compressors to form an energy-optimized station.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the DV series variable-speed controlled?
So that the delivered air volume automatically follows the current compressed air consumption. This reduces idle times, keeps the line pressure stable and can significantly lower energy costs.

What does 1:1 direct drive mean?
The electric motor transfers its power directly to the screw block via a flexible coupling. There is no belt drive and no additional transmission stage.

Can the DV15 be integrated into a control room?
Yes. The v-Log controller supports MODBUS RTU and also enables group control of several compatible compressors.

Is a refrigerated dryer included?
No. The dryer, air receiver and filters are designed separately according to the required compressed air quality.

Which version is right?
The 5–8 bar version delivers the higher air volume. The 5–10 bar version is intended for applications with higher line pressure. The decisive factors are actual consumption, the required minimum pressure and sufficient power reserve.
